A marriage settlement agreement in Florida is essentially a contract where you and the other party agree on some terms or all of the terms. If you are not able to come in agreement with all the terms, you can still have a marriage settlement agreement but the term you are not able to come to an agreement on, you can either go to mediation on it and if you’re not able to agree there, then you take it to trial. A marriage settlement agreement is a way to bypass the trial and the mediation stage where if both parties agree, they can have it down in writing and have it signed before a notary.
