The court looks at what is in the best interest of the child. They use statute, Florida Statute 61.13 to determine how to resolve issues such as the time sharing, how much time the child is going to spend with each parent, and which can also have a tremendous impact on child support as well. In chapter 61.13 one of the things the court looks at is which parent is going to facilitate and encourage a close relationship with the other parent and the child.
